Veterans Expressions is seeking additional support from the community to fully fund the program.  Cash and in-kind donations are needed for microphones, laptop, video camera, building materials and operations.  Food and beverage establishments can help by donating goods for fundraising events or for post-workshop lunches.  Donations can be made by contacting (562) 444-8381, 


Earlier this year, the members of American Legion Post 266 of Westminster were solicited to provide input for the design of the project. The post members expressed interest in a multidisciplinary program involving music, dance, theater and image and in creating individual works and peer-to-peer collaboration.  Marianne Choate, a US Navy veteran and member of Post 266 explained, “Art helps me release tension and stress, and improves my mood.  I like music and dance as it brings me into the moment, and brightens my mood.  Art makes me more positive and able to connect better with others. " 
 
Veterans Expressions, an arts project for veterans, active military and their families.  The project goals are artistic learning, creative expression, family bonding and community connection.  The project includes workshops in dance, music, image, theater and production.   The workshops are held every fourth Saturday from 10:00am – 12:00pm at the American Legion Post 266 in Westminster from September 2016 to June 2017.  Participants will have the opportunity to create art works to perform or share at a local venue or participate in technical and stagecraft roles such as set design, audio, video and arts production.  
Veterans Expressions is having a workshop Saturday the 24th of September at 10:00am. The American Legion Post 266  is hosting the workshop at 5860 Westminster Blvd.,Westminster CA.  Wear comfortable clothing. Workshops will be held every 4th Saturday of the month from 10:00am - 12:00pm.
